Exhibition Dates: April 2 – June 5, 2022
Marin Museum of Contemporary Art
This exhibition highlights a number of artistic practices employing everyday objects and materials to explore the human condition. Through varied approaches including performance, process, and an array of sculptural forms these works mine cultural and social contexts that come in dialogue with a constellation of personal and political issues. Here, objects double as conduits, vessels, mirrors, and talismans, to reflect and engage with what it means to be human. Themes of identity, connection, and am impulse to reflect on the past as a means to make sense of the present unify this diverse group of artists including Teresa Baker, Ashwini Bhat, Demetri Broxton, Sophia Cook, Renee Gertler, Cathy Lu, Masako Miki, Peter Simensky and others to be announced.
